GRADING NATURALLY MINED DIAMONDS
To assess the value of a diamond, laboratories have created a grading system used
internationally since the 1950’s. This system is based on the well known 4Cs, which are used to grade all naturally mined diamonds. iNOVA Jewellery follows this similar grading system.
Fueling a diamond’s fire, sparkle and brilliance, the ideal round brilliant cut allows light to enter the diamond through the sides of the crown where it is amplified by the pavilion and exits the crown through the table. A well-cut diamond reflects maximum light to the eye, sparkling to its brightest.
iNOVA Jewellery only offers cut grades “Very Good” and above.
Diamonds are valued by how closely they approach colourless – the less colour, the higher their value. The colour-grading scale begins with D (colourless) to Z (light yellow).
All iNOVA Moissanite possess colour grades between D and H.
Clarity refers to the absence of inclusions and blemishes on the diamond’s surface and internally. Diamonds without these birthmarks are rare. The clarity grade ranges from Flawless (FL) to obvious inclusions (I3).
iNOVA Moissanite are graded VS and above.
Diamonds are weighed in metric carats and 1 carat is equivalent to 0.2 grams in weight. The value of a diamond increases significantly as it enters a higher carat weight group.
At iNOVA Jewellery, you can enjoy the same luxury and captivating properties of a diamond at a fraction of the cost.
